Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking a Sonographer with 3 years of echocardiography experience and active RDCS or RCS certification for an acute care assignment.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

• Work in an acute care setting in an echocardiography unit
• Department has 4 scanners and uses Siemens Accu SC 2000 equipment
• Performs 7-9 echocardiogram studies per day on adult patients; no pediatric cases
• Shift is Monday through Friday with 8-hour day shifts; staggered start times between 0700-0830
• No weekend, holiday, call, or standby requirements
• May be asked to float to a location 40 miles away
• Uses Cerner EMR (transitioning to Epic) and Syngo Dynamics
• Department has on-site cardiologists and a lead tech
• Main duties include performing and analyzing echocardiograms, preparing and positioning patients, ensuring quality imaging, and collaborating with cardiologists
• RNs initiate IVs as needed
• Orientation includes 4 hours CBTs and 1-2 days with a preceptor
• Any color scrubs may be worn, but must be clean and professional
• First-time travelers and duos are accepted
• Returning employees must have ended employment at least 6 months prior and require approval
• Local candidates within 80 miles are accepted at a reduced rate

• Minimum of 3 years of echocardiography/echo tech experience required
• Current BLS (AHA) and either RDCS or RCS certification required
• License required if applicable
• 2 professional references required, including one from a supervisor
• Must be able to perform and analyze echocardiograms independently
• Experience with Cerner EMR and Syngo Dynamics preferred
