Job Description

An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher to support students in a K-12 setting, focusing on self-contained classrooms with flexible age groups. This full-time contract role is based in Alabaster, AL, and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' educational journeys throughout the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group instruction tailored to students with diverse learning needs.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and promote academic and social growth.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and intervention outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Alabama Professional Teaching Certificate.
• Compliance with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements, or willingness to obtain necessary qualifications.
• Experience working with special education students in self-contained settings preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.

Position Details:

• Location: Alabaster, AL (K-12 School)
• Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
• Contract Duration: Current school year, ending 6/9/26
• Caseload: Self-contained class with flexible age range
