Summary:
The Senior-Level Claims Reviewer is responsible for independently reviewing, analyzing, and processing complex claims related to disaster losses in accordance with federal policies and program guidelines. This position serves as a technical authority on claims interpretation, policy compliance, and documentation quality. The Senior Reviewer also supports mentoring of mid-level staff, provides guidance on escalated issues, and ensures high standards of accuracy and timeliness in the claim's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
Ability to understand and interpret complex federal policy language, including relevant statutes, regulations, policies, guidance, and directions.
Disaster-related knowledge and background to accurately assess losses, damages, repairs, and replacement costs.
Customer service, excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge and ability to explain policy and regulations to claimants, FEMA staff, and other stakeholders.
Proficiency in using claims management software, databases, and other technology tools that facilitate claim processing, documentation, and communication.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma required
NFIP Certification required (or must be obtained upon hire)
A minimum of ten (10) years of combined experience in claims or case processing roles, including customer service, data entry, reviewing, and evaluating various types of disaster-related losses
Ability to understand and interpret complex federal policy language, including relevant statutes, regulations, policies, guidance, and directions
Disaster-related knowledge and background to accurately assess losses, damages, repairs, and replacement costs
Excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex policies and procedures to claimants, FEMA staff, and stakeholders
Proficiency in claims management systems, databases, and technology tools that facilitate documentation, tracking, and resolution of claims

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $28.50 to $35.00 Compensation depends on several factors including experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
