Job Description

Job Title: Business Analyst – Data & Reporting (6-Month Contract)

Location: Irving, TX (Onsite 3 days/week)

Salary Range: $60-65/hr

Introduction

We are seeking a seasoned Business Analyst to support backend reporting initiatives within our Internal Analytics environment, built on Databricks. This contract role is ideal for someone who thrives in cross-functional teams, understands data warehousing, and can own the product BA lifecycle from start to finish. You’ll be collaborating with data engineers, developers, project managers, and business stakeholders to drive reporting solutions that support our consulting operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst

Proven experience owning a product as a solo Business Analysis

Experience handling multiple concurrent projects

At least 2 years of experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or XP), including backlog refinement and user story creation

Ability to create and execute SQL queries

Strong skills in business requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation

Understanding of Data Analytics, Data Warehousing, or Big Data concepts

Experience with Databricks and modern data warehouse environments

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Experience in user acceptance testing and stakeholder communication

Some experience in software testing and knowledge of testing methodologies

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Act as liaison between business users, product managers, and development teams

Elicit, analyze, and translate requirements into actionable user stories

Partner with Product Owner to maintain a healthy product backlog

Lead Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning and refinement sessions

Conduct gap analyses and identify effective business solutions

Write and run SQL queries to analyze data and identify discrepancies

Support development and QA teams with timely answers and clarifications

Collaborate with technical architects and business leaders to guide product direction
