Job Description
As a Remodel Carpenter , you’ll work on residential remodeling and renovation projects including kitchens, bathrooms, basements, decks, and additions. This role requires attention to detail, problem-solving in existing structures, and experience in both rough and finish carpentry. You’ll also mentor helpers and carpenters-in-training while collaborating with project managers and homeowners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to setting project goals, task assignments, and schedules.
• Perform demolition and prepare existing spaces for remodels.
• Measure, cut, and install wood, drywall, trim, doors, cabinetry, flooring, and other materials.
• Repair and modify existing structures, framing, and finishes.
• Collaborate with sales, project management, and homeowners to ensure quality, schedule, and design expectations are met.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and remodel plans.
• Coordinate with other trades (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) as needed during remodel projects.
• Maintain safe work practices and a clean, organized job site.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years proven experience in carpentry, residential new construction or remodeling.
• Knowledge of both rough and finish carpentry techniques.
• Strong problem-solving skills when working with existing structures.
• Strong communication and customer service skills when working in occupied homes.
• Ability to safely operate a wide range of tools and equipment.
• Capable of working independently and managing time efficiently.
• Physical stamina and ability to work in varied site conditions.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in kitchen, bathroom, and deck remodels.
• Ability to handle custom trim and cabinetry work.
• Knowledge of building codes and structural requirements.
• Cross-trade skills such as drywall, siding, or flooring are a plus.
