Job Description

Our client, a leader in the aerospace industry, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be part of the engineering department supporting the aftermarket shop. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Rocky Mount, NC

Pay Range: $38.00-$47.00 Hourly

What's the Job?

• Design, develop, and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
• Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, and machines.
• Support technicians performing repair and overhaul processes.
• Create and revise repair instructions, documentation, and tooling.
• Improve process efficiency and support work scoping to reduce repair time.

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, repair, and overhaul.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.
• Preferred skills: VBA coding, test software, project management software (e.g., Jira, Smartsheets, SAP), Lean Six Sigma certification, Scrum Master, or Agile experience.
