Environmental Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly experienced Safety Specialist to support a high-compliance project involving exterior and interior abatement, demolition, dirt work, and hazardous material removal. This is a full-time opportunity for a safety professional with a strong background in hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, environmental health, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee site safety for large-scale abatement, demolition, excavation/dirt work, and remediation projects
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and trainings in accordance with OSHA, environmental, and site-specific regulations
• Monitor compliance related to asbestos abatement, heavy metals, lead, silica, and other hazardous exposures
• Train field personnel on safe operation of aerial lifts, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment
• Support the implementation of health and safety plans and site-specific safety programs
• Deliver field-based safety trainings, including site orientations and toolbox talks
• Collaborate with project teams and subcontractors to promote a culture of safety and accountability

Qualifications:

• Valid Asbestos License
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification (required)
• 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification (required)
• EM 385-1-1 Training (preferred)
• 24-Hour Fall Protection (required)
• Experience with lead abatement , chemical operations , and heavy metals exposure
• Heavy Metals Awareness/Competent Person Training (required)
• Minimum 8 years of experience in environmental safety or industrial hygiene roles
• Strong understanding of demolition, abatement, and remediation safety practices
• Excellent communication, leadership, and field coordination skills

Typical pay range: $45- $55/hr+, compensation varies by project, scope, experience, certifications, and employment classification.
