Job Description This hybrid role combines on‑premises database work with cloud‑based technology. You will partner with information architects, application architects, clients, and project teams to develop, maintain and integrate data models. Duties include designing system solutions, implementing new features, resolving complex incidents, enhancing platform monitoring, and consulting with support and development staff. Primary Duties, Requirements & Responsibilities Adopt an agile mindset within a continuous delivery model. Define and plan work on a team backlog, helping the team meet its outcomes. Provide technical leadership within the team. Apply engineering-standard methodologies to analyze and develop software solutions. Experience with on‑prem Relational Databases, especially Db2‑LUW, in both engineering and DBA roles. Use established coding standards, best practices and automation to support users. Identify technical problems and develop automation solutions. Review software code developed in projects. Continuously improve processes and build CI/CD pipelines. Write and maintain complex Unix shell and Python scripts for maintenance, automation and testing. Operate ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Knowledge and Change Management; preferred ServiceNow experience. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Experience with AIX Linux and shell scripting; comfortable with CLI. AWS certifications preferred. Proficiency in DevOps and Agile principles. 5+ years of professional IT experience. Experience with AWS Cloud Services and container orchestration. Experience with monitoring and performance tuning of systems. Experience with networking, storage, Linux/AIX systems. Experience with modern programming languages (Python, JavaScript, etc.). Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code frameworks (Terraform, CloudFormation). Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Gitlab CI, Jenkins, CodePipeline, Circle CI). Understanding of certificates, firewalls, vulnerability management, authentication, and authorization. Strong written and verbal communication. Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration across all levels. Self‑directed and able to work in ambiguous situations. Problem solver who enjoys learning and thinking creatively. Strong sense of ownership with the ability to work with limited requirements. Additional Desired Experience Experience with Jira for agile feature and story creation. Experience with AWS data services: Redshift, ElastiCache, Iceberg, Athena, Databricks. Experience with Terraform to modify AWS clusters and nodes. Experience with ELK stack, Dynatrace and Database Brothers Inc. (DBI). Experience with CyberArk and HashiCorp Vault. Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience. Observability/monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, Dynatrace, and ELK stack. Dashboard and reporting tools like Grafana and Power BI. Cloud security platforms such as WIZ.
