Data Scientist

The Data Scientist has a background in Data Science, or other quantitative disciplines, with strong technical skills. Extended experience in working with large and complex data sets to assist data-driven decision making is required. Also essential is the ability to design analytic frameworks with close attention to detail, to diligently validate and effectively present results. The Data Scientist in this position is required to constantly innovate, challenge assumptions, generate new hypothesis and process improvements, as well as collaborate with others towards shared goals.

Your day to day will involve:

  • Working with a rich dataset and a robust well-established Enterprise Data Warehouse to identify emerging drivers of health care trend and cost, market pressures, and profitability by designing, compiling, and executing own analysis or reporting.
  • Designing compelling visualizations and building innovative models to influence and analyze new products, provider payment structures, and health care delivery mechanisms that will lower cost and improve the quality of care provided to our members, making a clear recommendation on path forward with supporting rationale.
  • Assisting in performance of financial projections and analysis for well-defined projects, making recommendations to various customers/departments.
  • Leading development of processes/analyses to determine financial performance or evaluate cost/benefit, working to ensure consistent representation across the entire business.
  • May be responsible for leading projects relating to complex issues and trends, driving projects to completion, communicating results and facilitating implementation.

We're looking for:

  • A minimum of 4 years professional experience, preferably in healthcare or related industry.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in data analysis/extraction/manipulation using tools like SAS, SQL, R, Python, etc. strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience developing data visualization in tools such as Tableau and analytic automation (scripting, macros) strongly preferred.
  • Proven problem-solving competence, proactive strategical thinking. Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, experience to initiate and drive projects with minimal oversight and guidance.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills to execute on a variety of projects under specific time restraints.

What you bring:

  • Ability to communicate (written & verbal) and collaborate with various business partners, including clinical and technical and non-technical staff required.
  • Proven ability to constantly innovate.
  • Master's degree required with a focus in Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Min. 3 years of Data Science functional experience (familiarity with Payer industry is preferred, but not a must).
  • Minimum education requirements: high school degree or equivalent required unless otherwise noted above.

Salary Range: $114,414.00 - $142,120.00

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
