Summary 
Per Se Group has an outstanding contract job opportunity for a Construction Superintendent to work with our premier commercial client. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Field Superintendent to oversee all subcontractor activity on a fast-paced interior fit-out of a large-scale food production and processing facility. This is a critical on-site leadership role responsible for maintaining daily field operations, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and enforcing project schedules, safety standards, and food facility construction protocols.
This job may be ideal for you if you have experience in food-grade construction or cold storage projects, are comfortable managing multiple trades simultaneously, and can ensure the project progresses efficiently and safely through each phase of work. Must be able to commute daily to Bergen County, New Jersey.

Responsibilities 

• Maintain a full-time presence onsite in Moonachie, NJ, overseeing day-to-day subcontractor performance and field activities.
• Coordinate and sequence the work of all trades, including MEP, refrigeration, finishes, structural, and process equipment installers.
• Ensure adherence to project drawings, specifications, and hygienic construction standards appropriate for food production environments.
• Monitor field progress, perform daily job walks, and identify areas requiring rework, clarification, or schedule acceleration.
• Enforce jobsite safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance in line with OSHA, GMP, and FDA/USDA construction practices.
• Support scheduling efforts by identifying critical path items, material delays, or scope gaps.
• Assist with inspections, punch lists, QA/QC checks, and coordination between contractors and vendors.
• Report daily progress to the Senior Project Manager, flagging issues and recommending solutions to maintain productivity.

Preferred Skills and Expertise

• 7+ years of field supervision experience on interior construction projects, preferably involving food production, cold storage, or sanitary environments.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP plans.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractor crews simultaneously in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
• Familiarity with food-grade facility standards, including cleanable finishes, washdown protocols, and hygienic materials.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on accountability, quality, and safety.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred.
• Proficiency with field reporting tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or equivalent).
• Must be based in or able to commute daily to Moonachie, NJ.

The compensation range for this role is $60-$65/hr. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
